Its almost spring and its time to start shedding that winter weight. Phew did we have a bad winter. So lets get our energy up & our weight down.
Where do you start? First of all consult your doctor as with any changes. Second, take one day at a time. I am going to share with you a few tips & tricks I use myself. I tweet a lot and hear a lot of feedback or questions when I tweet about my own journey to healthy eating. Where to find the foods, where to start, its not that easy, ect ect. I have some answers. Start by making a grocery list of all the foods you might need. Having a plan always helps. Don't buy too much especially with fruits & veggies because they go bad faster. Maybe 3 or less to start with.
Use bottled water & keep in every room to help you drink water more. You see a bottle, you pick it up take a few drinks & keep going about your day. Simple. It doesn't have to be fancy. Spring water is the best.
Make food ahead of time if you can or prep for the week. I know a lot of people are really busy but time management is key to eating healthy. About day two or three you will feel it - energy perks up really nicely. Now the bad foods you take in will have an adverse affect. Usually in the form of heartburn & digestive quirks. Your body will reject bad food once you start putting clean and pure food into your body.
Organic? Yes!! Buy when you can and do what you can. Learn that the dirty 12 you should always try to buy organic. Then you have the clean fifteen. See pic below and print it or save to your phone.To keep this short I will make a part two. I don't like super long blogs so I'll keep it short for you. I know your time is important.
Here's what I like ::: Smoothies. Easy & take it to go in a plastic cup (so you can toss later) Mix up your 3 faves fruit or veggies & some liquids. Boom. Easy as abc 123. Use stevia to sweeten. Almond milk and coconut water for liquid. Salads with chicken. Homemade dressings (make in advance). I love hemp protein, hemp seeds & chia seeds. Lastly, I love quinoa.
